2008 Events
April 27th - Once again Gordon Roberts will be planning the annual "Chuckanut Drive" event which takes place in North West Washington. Members from the Western Canada Region as well as the Washington Region take part in this event which takes you along the very scenic Chuckanut drive, then through the famous Tulip fields (an awesome sight), and finally ending up in LaConner, Washington for lunch followed by some leisure time to walk around the small town.
More details will be sent out in the future regarding this event.
June 15th - Fred Kappler will again be organizing our clubs attendance to the Fathers Day in The Park car show
which is held in Mission, BC. Normally there are over 1300 cars in the field for this annual event. Fred will fill members in with all the details at a later date.
Date TBA - Member Ted Hlokoff would like to plan a weekend up in his neck of the woods, Nimpo Lake, BC. A separate email will follow shortly with more detail.
June 20 - 23 - Okanagan Valley Event. Gail and I, along with Evelyn and Udo Nell, have been busy with plans for an event in the sunny Okanagan!
Friday June 20th - check in to hotel and the usual meet and "drink" in the hotel lounge.
Saturday June 21st - Breakfast on your own, then a short drive up to Vernon to the Sunvalley Speedway (www.sunvalleyspeedway.com) where we have the track booked for 6 hours of auto-cross. Lunch at the track will be provided by our club.
Following a day at the track we will return to the hotel, have a couple hours down time, and then head out (within walking distance) to one of the local restaurants for dinner.
Sunday June 22nd - Breakfast on your own. Then a drive through parts of the scenic Okanagan Valley with a stop for lunch along the way. Once again dinner at a local restaurant ( again within walking distance!) in the evening.
Monday June 23rd - Check out and return home.
Hotel details - As in the past we will be staying at The Grand Okanagan Hotel (www.grandokanagan.com) I have several rooms blocked off, and these rooms will be held only until May 20th. Any rooms not taken by then will be released from our block, so please be sure to reserve well ahead of time. Room cancellation is 48 hours prior to arrival but please confirm for yourself.
Room rate is $259/night for double occupancy and $15/night for parking. Parking is in a secure garage. The room rate is a bit higher than in the past but it is also prime season in the Okanagan! Other hotels were slightly cheaper but not downtown on the water...

Cost of this event will be $50 per car - this will cover the rental of the track. Other than that all meals etc will be at your own cost.
